Services

We undertake a preliminary assessment of the project requirements, articulating them into a project brief. We then use this brief to develop options and explore the feasibility of the project. We also provide advice with regard to suitable procurement options for the project.

We use the project brief to develop the outline proposals based on outcomes of the Concept Design stage. The final design brief will reflect your aspirations as the proposals develop toward a planning submission. For complex schemes we will provide advice with regard to the involvement of other professional consultants to prepare reports and necessary documentation.

When the scheme design is fixed and planning approval has been received, we will prepare the technical design information. This involves submission of technical drawings and specifications for approval with the local building control authority.

At this stage the overall design proposals are in place and we begin to produce detailed drawings and specifications. We prepare technical information packages according to the chosen method of procurement prior to and/or during the construction phase.

When the technical design is completed, contractors have been selected and the building contract has been awarded, we administer the building contract as the project progresses through the construction phase.

We manage health, safety and environmental risks during the pre-construction phase of a project. Following the introduction of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations in 2015, it is a legal requirement to appoint a Principal Designer to manage and coordinate aspects of health and safety in the construction and pre-construction project phases.
